SUMMARY:John Overing's Eagle Project - Click for Details
DESCRIPTION:Hi\, I’m John Overing\, a Sophomore at Loyola High School. My Eagle Project is a renovation for an outdoor amphitheater at Mater Dolorosa Retreat Center in Sierra Madre. The current outdoor amphitheater\, which seats about 120\, has wooden benches which require new paint and maintenance every few years. Mater Dolorosa would like to remove maintenance costs with wood-alternative Trex boards. \nThe project will involve placing waterproofing materials over the current wooden benches\, cutting Trex boards down to appropriate sizes\, and screwing the Trex boards in on top of the existing wooden boards. If we have any uneven benches\, we will also be caulking along the undersides of some boards. \nThe project will take place from 9-4 on July 19th and 20th. Any and all help is appreciated. LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED. \nThanks for the help and support\,John Overing \nIf you have any questions\, feel free to contact me at johnovering@lhsla.org.

SUMMARY:San Marino Independence Day Parade - Click for Details
DESCRIPTION:Independence Day Parade – If you are interested in participating in the parade please email me (only me please\, do NOT Reply All). We will meet at the Chevron gas station at 3:45 p.m. on Friday\, July 4\, on the corner of Huntington Drive and Monterey Road. I will distribute wristbands (see note below on wristbands) to our scouts at that time. We will then be assigned our banners\, and the parade will begin about 4:45 p.m. We will march down Monterey Road to Virginia Road\, then enter Lacy Park where the parade will end. Parents and siblings are welcome to follow along with the parade on the sidewalk\, or just meet your scouts at the end of the parade. Dress for the parade is full Class A uniform without sash. Service hours will be granted to our parade marchers. \nGlowstick Sales Event – Following the parade\, our scouts in the Salesmanship Merit Badge class will complete the badge by selling glowsticks in Lacy Park. Scouts who are not in the Merit Badge class are also welcome to participate. We will meet at the flagpoles on the east side of Lacy Park (near the Virginia entrance) when the parade ends\, and start selling – this should be about 6:00 p.m. The sales event should last until about 7:15pm-7:30 p.m. Dress for the sales event is full Class A uniform without sash. We sold out our allotment of 1\,000 glowsticks last year very quickly – so we got 1\,200 this year\, let’s see how quickly we can sell those. Rumor has it Mr. Riemers our Salesmanship Merit Badge Counselor awards In-n-Out gift cards to the winning sales team! \nFlag Ceremony – We may be asked to participate in the flag ceremony that will occur before the fireworks show. Please let me know if you would like to be in this flag ceremony. Additional community service hours will be available for participants and if you need a flag ceremony sign-off for your rank advancement\, here’s your opportunity! \nWristbands – Please note that everyone will need a wristband to enter Lacy Park on July 4. Scouts who march in the parade will receive wristbands when they check in with me before the parade. If you are participating in the sales event\, but not marching in the parade\, it would be best if you get your wristband prior to the parade on the 4th. Mr. Moffat has graciously organized picking the wristbands up and you can get them from his house (2280 Adair St.\, San Marino) as of today through the morning of July 4th. Please contact Mr. Moffat directly to arrange a time when you can pick up your wristband (moffatlaw@earthlink.net) or 213.505.2423. \nFamily members who wish to go into Lacy Park should obtain their own wristbands (see instructions below). If you will not be entering the park but wish to pick up your scout after the parade or sales event\, plan to meet your scout at the Virginia entrance to Lacy Park\, but note that there will be very limited parking in the area – you may need to park several blocks away. Or you could try to arrange a drive by pick up\, which would be best coordinated by cell phone with your scout (I would suggest arranging a pickup a block or two from the park entrance as the block of Virginia in front of the park will likely be closed to vehicle traffic). \nCity of San Marino2014 Fourth of July Celebration \n________________________________________How to Get Your Fourth of July WristbandsResidents: Pre-sale wristbands will be available for $5 each. Proof of residency will be requested; bring an identification card displaying your address or a utility bill. DESCRIPTION:Hi\, I’m Daniel Lytle\, a sophomore at Loyola High School. My Eagle project will be at the Salvation Army’s Tabernacle Church in Pasadena. This Salvation Army facility provides church services\, an alcaholic rehabilitation program\, and numerous children’s recreational activities to the Pasadena community. Recently\, they’ve been having storage issues\, and that’s where we come in. \nFor my Eagle project\, we’ll be gutting a storage room at the Salvation Army in Pasadena\, repainting it\, and then building some custom shelving along the walls of the room. For this portion of the project\, scouts (and dads) with woodworking experience can expect to use some fun tools such as routers\, table saws\, etc. Then\, on the 30th and 31st of May and the 7th of June\, scouts with a little less experience are welcome to come and help us gut out the room\, repaint it\, and then install the new custom shelving. Please bring eye protection and gloves (especially if you’re coming to the first part of the project). I will provide lunch on the all-day work dates (see below). Please bring eye protection and gloves (especially if you’re coming to the first part of the project). I will provide lunch on the all-day work dates (see below). This is a big job\, and I appreciate your help in making it possible. \nDates: May: 9th\, 16th\, and 30th (3-6 pm) 10th\, and 17th (9am-5pm) 31st (9am-noon)	June: 7th (9am-5pm) \nLocations:	Dr. Smith’s House: 409 Gurdon Ave. San Gabriel\, CA 91775	Salvation Army: 960 E. DESCRIPTION:Come to Lacy Park at 3:00 to help the Cub Scouts from Valentine Pack 354 set up their tents. \nAs all of our Scouts from Pack 354 know\, each year the Pack has a big campout at Lacy Park. The Pack has requested that Scouts from Troop 355 help set up the Cub Scout tents. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your strong camping experience. It is also a great opportunity to show the Cub Scouts what a Helpful” and “Kind” Troop we are. \nPlease throw on a Class B shirt (Tshirt or tech shirt) so that all of the Cub Scouts and their parents know that you are from Troop 355. \nIf you are a former Pack 354 scout\, this would be a good event for you to attend\, especially if you have a brother who is still in the Pack. \nCommunity Service hours will be granted. Please let Mr. Shwery know if you would plan to help out at this event.”

DESCRIPTION:My name is Hunter Kral. I am currently a junior at San Marino High School. My Eagle project will be on February 22rd and 23rd\, between the hours of 8am to 3pm. For my project we will be installing irrigation\, sprinklers\, plants and flowers outside the maternity ward at Huntington Hospital\, all of the materials will be supplied. You may want to bring old clothes and gloves as there will be lot’s of digging involved. \nI chose this project because many of us were lucky enough to be born at this hospital. Right now outside the neo-natal unit there are four planter boxes that are just dirt and the blinds inside these rooms are shut. Many parents are there for several months waiting for their children’s health to improve so they can be released from the hospital. This project will allow them to have a view of plants and flowers and hopefully bring a smile to many faces over the years. \nYour support of my project would be greatly appreciated. Food and beverages will be supplied. As we get closer I will provide a map of our location and where to park. Parking validations will be provided by the hospital. If you are able to help me please let me know so that I can get a proper headcount. I will also need to know if you are driving so I can get enough validations. \nHunter Kral(626) 689-6763kralhunter7@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Daniel Abrams Eagle Scout Project - Click for Details
DESCRIPTION:My name is Daniel Abrams. I am currently a junior at San Marino High School. I will be doing my Eagle project on February 1st and 2nd\, between the hours of 9am to 4pm. If my project has not been completed by the end of the first weekend\, I will extend over the project to the following weekend; February 8th and 9th. For my project\, I will be sanding and repainting around 240 ft of fencing along the Old Mill Ln and Virginia rd intersection of Lacy park. All of the materials will be supplied. I would recommend clothing that you will not care if paint is splattered on. Closed toed shoes are also recommended. \n The purpose of the project is to beautify the skin of lacy park. The first thing people see walking into lacy park is the grand black fence. We will start off the project by taking steel wool and going over all the bars on the selected area and removing unwanted junk and old peeling paint. After all sanding is complete\, we will then apply black paint on to the fence. The project is purely in the benefit of the City of San Marino. \nI would really appreciate the support. The project is not very labor demanding and food and beverages will be supplied. Again\, the project will take place at the top of Lacy park\, on the side walk along the intersection of Old Mill Ln and Virginia rd. If you can help\, please rsvp so I can get a total count of the amount of people working. If you have any questions\, my contact info will be listed below. Thanks. \nDaniel Abrams(626) – 755 – 7150dbusky@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Chris Oddi's Eagle Project - Click for Details
DESCRIPTION:I am beginning my Eagle Scout Project on January 11th-12th\, and may need to set up one more time for Sunday the 19th just in case the project is not yet completed. For my project\, I am building 4 wood picnic tables that fold and turn into park benches. Therefore\, please bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty as well as work gloves and appropriate shoes. \nThe organization I am helping out is called Door Of Hope\, located in Glendale. This shelter serves battered women and children. On their site\, they have a narrow backyard used as a play area for the kids\, as well as ceremonial dinners for the adults. For the kids\, they need benches that don’t take up much space and that they can sit on. For the adults\, they need picnic tables that will be used for buffets as well as dinners in general. This is where my 2-in-1 benches come in\, as they will accommodate any circumstance. \nIt would be awesome if you guys could help me out with my project\, as the time you spend working can go toward your rank advancement as well as high school community service hours. The work will begin at 9AM and finish at 5PM at 265 North Vinedo Ave\, Pasadena 91107. Once you reach the location\, there will be signs leading you to the parking lot where all the manual work will be done. Once the project is finish\, I will send the benches over to the Door of Hope in Glendale. Lunch and snacks will be provided. \nIf you plan on attending\, please send me and email (chris.oddi@gmail.com)so that I can have a head-count. Also\, feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to seeing you on the 11th. \n-Chris Oddi
