SUMMARY:Christopher Jung's Eagle ProjectPasadena Buddhist ChurchClick for Details
DESCRIPTION:Dear Troop 355\, \nMy name is Christopher Jung and I am currently a Junior at Loyola High School. I will be doing my Eagle Scout project this weekend on March 25th and 26th. \nMy project will be held at the Pasadena Buddhist Church. Long story short\, my basketball team has been using their facility for a long time since we were 5 years old\, so I would like to give back by creating a resting area for the guests and the organization. At the site\, we will build two picnic tables and coat them with a hazel brown stain. In addition\, I will be removing an extensive area of weeds/dirt and replace them with stone gravel. We will be working on these two parts simultaneously. \nIf you happen to have shovels and gloves\, please bring them if possible. \nFood: Donuts\, Pizza\, Chips\, and Drinks \nAddress: 1993 Glen Ave\, Pasadena\, CA 91103 \nClothing: Clothes you can get dirty in (Shoveling and Painting). Closed toe shoes. \nTime: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Saturday) \n 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. (Sunday) \nIf you plan to come\, please email/text me the day and time you plan to attend. Your support is deeply appreciated. \nThank You \nChristopher Jung \nCell: (626)898-3877

SUMMARY:Matt Castro's Eagle ProjectHuntington Library - Click for Details
DESCRIPTION:Hello scouts and families of Troop 355\, \nMy name is Matthew Castro and I am going to be doing my Eagle Scout Project this weekend at the Huntington Library’s Experimental Ranch Gardens. Here’s the run down: \nWho am I? \nA little about myself\, I am currently a Life Scout\, a senior in high school\, and one of your current ASPL’s. You see at almost all of the troop meetings. \nWhen is your Eagle Project? \nThis weekend from February 4th (9AM to 3 or 4PM) to February 5th (9AM to 1 or 2PM). I understand that the Super Bowl is on Sunday and I will make sure that we finish up for the day a couple of hours or an hour before the game. That should be enough time for you to get home and enjoy the game. \nWhat will we be doing? \nWe will be in the Ranch Gardens weeding out the area\, checking and replacing parts of the irrigation system if necessary\, cardboard mulch the area\, and top the area off with organic mulch. \nWhere will we meet? \nOn Saturday and Sunday\, we will meet at the entrance of the Huntington Library\, at the cafe or ticketing area\, where all the tables are at 9AM. For those showing up later\, you can ask the staff where the Ranch Gardens are and they can direct you there. Just make sure you tell them you are here with the Boy Scouts. There should also be signs posted up directing you there. However\, you can always send me a text and I will send a scout or I will meet you at the entrance and walk you to the work area. \nDo I have to bring anything? \n All tools will and safety equipment will be provided by the Huntington Library\, however if you have a pair of work gloves\, bringing them would be ideal. Also\, food and refreshments will be provided by me. \nAdditional Info: Since the work space is a little big\, it would be much appreciated to have as many scouts to come out and help. For those who are going to show up\, please email me at mattcas88@gmail.com that you will be coming out so I have a rough estimate of how many scouts I will have attending. You can also text me at (626)-378-8238\, but just make sure you include your name. You do not need to contact me to show up and help. This is just to get an estimate of people that will be coming. For those planning to park\, make sure to show up before 11:00AM. The weekends\, especially this weekend\, is expected to be one of the busiest weekends for the Huntington Library. \nIf you have any questions\, please feel free to contact me at anytime using the information I have provided above. Thank you! \nSincerely\,Matthew Castro

A morning shift form 9-12:30 and an afternoon shift from 12:30-4. For those of you that plan on coming\, please send me an email telling me that you plan on coming and during which shift. That will help me get an estimate on the number of scouts attending. Lunch\, snacks\, and bottled water will be provided for both groups. \nI will send out another email the week of the project with detailed instructions about the project and directions. \nTom MoffatSPL Troop 355

DESCRIPTION:My name is Brad Loomis and I will be doing my Eagle Project on July 30 and 31. I will be a senior at Loyola High School and I am a current Life Scout in Troop 355. \nMy Eagle Project will take place at Foothill Oaks Academy in Duarte. The fence is rusted in multiple areas including some sections where the rust perforates the iron completely. My project is restoring the the fence by sanding down the rusted metal and patching up to perforated spots. Following the restoration\, the fence will be painted in order to protect the fence from further damage. \nJuly 30: We will focus on sanding and patching up holes followed by starting the painting \nJuly 31: We will finish up the project completely by finishing up the painting \nDates and Times: July 30\, 9:00am – 6:00pm and July 31\, 10:00am – 5:00pm \nLocation: Foothill Oaks Academy\, 822 Bradbourne Ave. Duarte\, CA \nParking: People may park on the street or preferably park on the Junior High black top \nFood: Lunch\, drinks\, and snacks will be provided \nSunscreen will also be provided but you should bring your own if you can. We will also have a few easy-ups for shade. \nClothing: We will be sanding and painting so I suggest comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting a little bit dirty. Because it is July\, it will be hot so a t-shirt and shorts are suggested. A hat would be a smart idea as well. \nPlease text (preferred)\, call\, or email me telling me who you are and to let me know what day and which hours you will be volunteering\, so I will be able to plan everything out. \nThank you\,Brad LoomisText / Call: Cell (626)-616-8149 or Home (626)-256-4569Email: bradleyloomis@lhsla.org

DESCRIPTION:My name is Matthew Bazarevitsch and I will be doing my Eagle Project on July 23rd and July 24th. I will be a senior at St. Francis High School and I am a current Life Scout in Troop 355. \nMy Eagle Project will take place at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in La Canada. We will be refurbishing 300 feet of a railing and planting a drought-tolerant garden. This is a popular hangout spot during breaks at school\, and it will be important to refurbish the railing to get rid of the rust\, and make the area look nicer. \nOn July 23rd\, we will focus on the refurbishing of the railing. We will be sanding off the old paint and rust\, and repainting the 300 feet of railing. Depending on the amount of people in attendance\, we may also begin working on the garden. \nOn July 24th\, we will focus on the drought-tolerant garden. Right now\, it is a plain stretch of hard dirt. We will begin by turning the soil and putting fertilizer in it to soften it. When the soil is ready\, we will be planting drought-tolerant (and deer-tolerant) plants. When all plants are planted\, we will finish off the garden by placing a layer of mulch. The garden will complement the railing as we liven up the entire area! \nDates and Times: July 23-July 24\, 9:00am – 5:00pm both days \nLocation: Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy\, 440 St. Katherine Drive\, La Canada\, CA 91011 \nParking: There is a parking lot across the street from the project. It will be on the right side of the road as you begin to approach the school \nFood: Lunch\, drinks\, and snacks will be provided \nSunscreen will also be provided. We will also have a few easy-ups for shade. \nClothing: We will be sanding\, painting\, and planting\, so I suggest comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting a little bit dirty.
