SUMMARY:Matthew Haines' Eagle Project
DESCRIPTION:Hello Troop 355\, \n\nI am excited to announce that my Eagle Project will take place next weekend\, November 21-22. My beneficiary is the Pasadena Community Orchestra\, a non-profit orchestra that provides free concerts in Pasadena. I originally came to them with an offer to scan their music\, but they thought of something that would be more helpful to them. We will be scanning and digitizing their various files that they have amassed over the past decade\, which include board meeting records\, brochures from old concerts\, grant requests\, and tax files (I know\, fun\, right?) The project will be from 10:00 AM to 4:00PM on both days\, or until we finish scanning. Volunteers can sign up for any time spot during this period. We will be in a Zoom meeting for the duration of the project (you will not need to have your camera on the whole time you are in the meeting). I will need about 10-15 volunteers\, depending on how many hours people sign up for. Here is the sign up form. I will close it once enough people have signed up. (Also\, you do NOT need a scanner for this project\, as we will be using a smartphone app to scan the files.)\n\n\nFor those who sign up\, this project will be similar to Jack Moffat’s Eagle project which took place a couple of months ago. I will be dropping the files to be scanned at volunteer’s houses during the afternoon on Friday\, November 20th. I will then pick them up the following Monday (November 23). I will send further details about the project in an email to those who sign up.\n\nThank you to those who decide to sign up. The project will greatly benefit the PCO\, which has provided the city of Pasadena with great free musical performances for decades. This is also a great opportunity to get service hours during the pandemic. Depending on the response\, I may have to schedule a follow up weekend to finish up the project. Please reply if you have any questions.\n\nYours in Scouting\,\nMatthew Haines

SUMMARY:Alex Yeh's Eagle Project
DESCRIPTION:Hello Troop 355\,\n\nMy name is Alex Yeh and I am very excited to announce my upcoming Eagle Scout Project! This project will be benefiting Hope Gardens\, a women and children’s shelter in Sylmar. We’ll be filling and sealing meals in jars for the families that live there. Each jar will feed around 5-6 people.\n\nI’ll be making videos and instructions on how to fill each type of recipe and I’ll also hold a Zoom session for anyone who has questions. Each jar should take around 5 min to complete so it should take around 2-4 hours depending on how many people are working at once. I’ll be providing gloves and masks for each person for sanitary purposes. \n \nI’ll be delivering the materials on Friday 11/6 to each participant’s house\, and collecting the jars on Monday 11/9. I really appreciate it if you can sign up in the google form below!\n \nSign up: https://forms.gle/LKfEjgy8fJy3FWGh7\n\n \nThanks!\n-Alex Yeh

SUMMARY:Charlie Ward's Eagle Project
DESCRIPTION:Hi Troop 355!\n\nMy name is Charlie Ward\, and I am announcing my Eagle Project. I am recruiting 10 lucky volunteers to make face shields to donate to the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. We are going to have a week to complete all of the masks\, and each volunteer can choose whatever time works best for them!\n\nI am going to be uploading an action-packed Youtube video explaining how to create each mask. It takes around 10 minutes to create each one\, so it will be around 3-4 hours for each volunteer. I’m going to zoom with each volunteer as well to make sure there are no problems and/or just to hang out and talk about life in general. In the materials bags\, I am also going to be giving bags of candy and snacks to eat while doing the project!\n\nI am going to deliver the materials on Wednesday\, October 7th next week. One week later (October 14th) I will pick up all completed masks and deliver them to the medical center. I really appreciate it if you can sign up for the project. You can keep a couple of masks for your family if you choose to as well. Please sign up by Tuesday night if you can help so I know who to deliver materials to on Wednesday.\n\nSignup form link: https://forms.gle/WLLz48ts7RmwjhUS6\n\nThanks\,\nCharlie Ward\nFalcon Patrol (caw caw)
